Over the next few days, there was no sign of Leo. The iris-messages still didn't work, and he was still nowhere to be found.

Maddie was getting more and more worried. Mostly because of Leo, and a little bit because of the snake bite infecting and she couldn't feel her whole left leg. Maddie kept trying to send iris-messages, but it didn't work. Sometimes Maddie cried in fear when she imagined what could of happened to Leo.

About a month passed, and Leo was still gone. Percy had left camp several times to try and find him, but each time was a failure. He couldn't find Leo anywhere, and he was losing hope.

Maddie jumped, shaking. She was hungry and cold, but she was determined to find Leo even if she died trying. Maddie slowly took out her knife, which felt extremely heavy in her hands since she barely had any energy from barely eating anything.

Maddie jumped at the sound. Her head hit against the lamp post, and mustering her strength, she yelled: "GODS, OUCH!!" And rubbed her head tiredly. Everything hurt after walking for a month with just wearing torn jeans and a sweatshirt, not even shoes.
