The little girl dressed up as a boy, extremely excited. FINALLY! Something besides cooking. This would be awesome. Who cares if she died? It must feel better than being stuck in here. The little girl ran after Percy. "I'm coming too!" She announced. "This'll be great!"

Maddie dropped a sheet of metal on a mixture of acid and some other liquids. Maddie frowned, when there was a strange, sizzling noise. "Uhm..." Maddie said. "What did I just do?"

Percy didn't answer. He just kept walking.

"I don't know. Maybe a chemical reaction. Wow, that sounds like something Annabeth would say." Leo said.

Maddie nodded and watched as it sizzled. Then there was a loud explosion. Maddie shrieked and fell to the ground.

"Are you nervous?" The little girl asked. "It's fine if you are. I don't really get scared, but other people do for some reason."

"Something awesome!" Maddie said. She peered down. "It created a hole in the ground!" She exclaimed. "I'm a genius! I can create holes in the ground!! Woo hoo! Time machine is just a few steps away!"

"Hmm. Well, you don't have to be nervous. I'll kill everyone that tries to shoot you." The little girl said, which was probably the nicest thing Maddie could ever say.

"I hope he hasn't," Maddie said. "But knowing myself, I think he'll be alright. I fought in the war, and it wasn't too brutal....well, um, not counting the fact that that's how I died for three hundred years. But it wasn't because I wasn't paying attention. It was because of something else." She grabbed a hammer and started beating metal with it.

The little girl nodded. "Okay." She ran to a gigantic house-looking thing. "I think this is where we sign up."

"So... you died in the war? And you think Percy will be alright? In the same war?" Leo asked. "Should we get more information about the war first, just to be sure?"

"I think so, too." Percy said.

"I dunno. It's either he'll survive, or he won't." Maddie said. "That makes things a lot simpler. Many people died in the war. But some survived. We'll get there in time, though. That's because if we don't, we can just go back a few seconds back, to the time when he didn't get shot, so we can prevent it." Maddie said. She paused. "I did too much thinking. Now my brain hurts. Back to not thinking." She began beating the metal again.

The little girl ran inside. The room was gigantic.

A big man cleared his throat. He had a gigantic gun in his hand. "Ahem?"
"Oh, hi!" The little girl said. "I'm....um, I'm Alex Hills."
The man raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
The little girl pretended to be offended. "Yes. I am, thank you very much."
