"I don't get it either." Maddie said, sighing. "Curses are weird." She walked through New Jersey until she saw the 'Aunty Em's Garden Emporium' sign. Maddie frowned. Something felt wrong. But she shook the feeling. What could go wrong at a garden emporium?

Maddie looked at the scared statues. She wasn't frightened, though. Just curious. This person was really weird....
"Hello." A voice suddenly said.
Maddie jumped, and turned to see a woman in black jeans, and a leather jacket. She had sunglasses, and some weird turban thing covering up her hair. Maddie wasn't one to normally judge, but she felt something was off about her. She had no idea it was Medusa, though.

The woman took off her turban thing, and snakes appeared as her hair. Maddie jumped back. Of course. Medusa. This made a lot of sense. "I still have to get the golden bracelet!" Maddie said persistently. She ran inside the shack. Medusa wriggled out of Percy's grip, scowling.

Medusa took off her sunglasses, and her snakes hissed. Medusa looked out after Maddie, but she decided it would be easier to get rid of Percy first.
Maddie looked around, knocking statues over frantically. "It must be somewhere!" She muttered. "It HAS to be!!"

Medusa did an evil grin, and bolted after Maddie. Maddie didn't know Percy was a statue. She kept tearing through statues, frantic to find what she needed before Medusa got to her.

Maddie heard Medusa's foot steps, and turned to face Medusa. Well, not really face, because Maddie stared at her feet instead of Medusa's eyes. Maddie squeezed her eyes shut, and backed into a wall. "Uhm...can I bribe you with cash?" Maddie muttered.
"You'll make a great statue." Medusa said.
"That isn't what I asked!" Maddie yelled, squeezing her eyes tighter.

Medusa's snakes hissed and snapped at Maddie. Don't open your eyes, Maddie thought. Medusa scowled. Maddie tried thinking of a plan. One popped in her head. She reached down, pretending to go for her sword. Medusa leaned to one side, trying to grab her arm, but when Medusa leaned over, Maddie ran through the opening. She kept running until something caught her eye. The golden bracelet! YES! She grabbed it.
"Percy!!" Maddie yelled. "Percy?! Where are you?! We have to get out!"
Medusa was coming up quickly on Maddie, trying to find where she was.

"Oh, gods..." Maddie saw Percy. She wanted to bring him with her, but he was a STATUE! How do you lug those to the New Jersey beach and back to New York? Medusa ran after Maddie, and was about a foot away from her.
"There you are!" She yelled.
Maddie bit her lip, then bolted.
Ten minutes later, she was at the New Jersey shore line.

Maddie didn't notice the iris-message. Too bad she forget her swimsuit. Oh well. She began swimming through the water, waves lapping over her head. The bracelet did work. It blocked out water from entering her lungs, but if she got deep the pressure would still hurt.

Maddie stopped swimming, and turned. "Oh, hey Leo." Maddie waved, and a gigantic wave toppled over Maddie. Maddie gagged over the salt water and coughed. "Gosh, that tastes bad."

"Uhm...about that..." Maddie said. "He's kind of....a statue. I went to Medusa's garden emporium to get this." Maddie showed him the golden bracelet. "It lets me breathe underwater, which I have to, to find the pill or something to stop the anger attacks."

"Yeah, Medusa turned him into a statue." Maddie said. Another jellyfish stung Maddie, and she yelled: "WOULD YOU FREAKING STOP!?" She blindly stabbed her sword repetitive times into the water, and then jellyfish guts were floating everywhere.

"I don't know." Maddie said. "Hopefully. Until then, he's a super cool statue, stuck in Medusa's garden. I would have brought him with me, but he's so huge." There was a thrashing in the water, and it looked like there was a shark. "Ah, great. I'll have to talk to you later." Maddie said. The iris-message rippled and vanished, as Maddie plunged into the deep water.
