Maddie navigated with her eyes. New Jersey. It seemed so far away...but she had to go there to stop the anger attacks. Aphrodite instructed her to go to Aunty Em's Gnome Garden Emporium, and find a golden bracelet on a statue. What's a bracelet doing in a innocent garden gnome store? It would be impossible to find it.

Maddie didn't understand Percy, so she just kept running. Soon she was out of New York completely. She panted. "Let's take a break." She said. She sat down, and drank some water for fifteen minutes. Then she got up and kept running.

After hours of walking, a sign said 'Welcome to New Jersey!' in cursive letters, but someone put graffiti on it and wrote in scribbly, black, permanent letters, 'Now get out!'. They were a little drowned out from rain, but still pretty clear. Maddie frowned. "Well," She said. "Not the welcome I was hoping for. But who cares? We won't be staying long...of course, unless we die. But how can you die at a garden emporium? The only hard part will be finding the golden bracelet, then going to the bottom of the ocean using it to breathe underwater."
