Maddie climbed up a tree, and began swinging branch to branch to keep up with Annabeth. It felt easier than walking, too. Even though she was fifteen feet high in the air, she wasn't scared of falling.

"Huh." Maddie said. There was that noise again. It sounded like hissing. A snake, Maddie thought. Snakes are cool. "Are you a snake?" Maddie called. "I love snakes." Then she heard the hissing again. In front of her was a beautiful, silky white cat with brown eyes. It meowed and hissed. "AAH!!! IT'S A CAT!!" Maddie shrieked. "WHY COULDN'T IT BE A SNAKE?!?!"
