Maddie stood there like a statue, scowling, with her hands tensed and her palms facing up. The monsters pulled themselves out of the creases.

"The camp means nothing to me anymore." Annabeth said.
"At least fix it!" Leo shouted.

Daniel sighed. "Then the whole camp will freeze?"


Maddie got out of her statue mode, and fell down. "Ouch!" She rubbed her back, and when she looked up there were fifty monsters, making a mess around camp. "Oh gods..." She whispered. She grabbed her knife, and did the only thing she could think of. She fled.

"Have you even tried?!" Leo asked.
"No, but-" Annabeth started to say.
"Then try!" Leo said.
"I can't control it!" Annabeth shouted.
"If you tried, you could! I know you can!" Leo said.
"I can't!!!" Annabeth shouted, sending a blast of ice at Leo, hitting him in the chest.

Maddie kept running, even though her legs began bleeding. Her heart was beating so fast, it sounded like a buzz. She collapsed to the floor, and something cut her. She reached down in her pocket, and found her very first sword. 'Golden' it said. Golden. "What happened?" Maddie murmured to herself. "What happened to Golden?"

"What did you do to him?" Percy asked Annabeth.
Annabeth didn't say anything. She just crossed her arms and walked into a room, hidden from view.

The monsters growled angrily, and Daniel took out his sword. "Hopefully when she wakes up she can fix this...until then, stay alive!!" He swung his sword at a monster.
