"I only have one pearl for Leo to get to camp, but I don't know how I can get back to camp." Maddie explained.

"Sure." Daniel said. He didn't want to know why Leo looked like he was set on fire. After all, he did control fire. He decided it was for a similar reason three inches of Maddie's hair was black from being burnt, and her clothes were also black for the same reason. "I could pick Maddie up, if you want."

"That's great!" Leo said happily. He crushed the pearl and was back at camp, waiting for Maddie to come back.

Daniel came to San Francisco to pick Maddie up. In three days, they were in the forest, almost back at camp, when a minotaur jumped on the car. Maddie screamed, and Daniel jumped out with his sword. The minotaur growled, but before it could attack, another minotaur rammed into it. Maddie jumped out of the car. The minotaur ran towards Maddie, but it just sniffed her.
"What...is THAT?!" Daniel asked, staring at the minotaur.
"Please don't kill it." Maddie begged. She reached out and patted the minotaur's nose. It sniffed.

The minotaur growled. "Sorry, 'he'." Maddie said, eyeing the minotaur like 'stay out of this, I'll talk to you later.'

Maddie sighed, and pretended she didn't hear Leo.
"Maddie, Leo's right." Daniel said.
"But he SAVED us, Daniel." Maddie protested. "And he called me Hamburger Queen. How sweet is that?"
Daniel sighed and shook his head. "It did kind of save us, but that doesn't mean it's safe....."
Maddie frowned. "So?!? My dad says I'M not safe!! And I haven't blown anything up in one week!"

Annabeth didn't notice the Iris-message at first. She continued practicing with everyone, and after an entire song with them, she finally saw the Iris-message. "Oh,hey Daniel."
(Bye! I don't know what time I'll get home, but it will most likely be after 4:00.)

Daniel nodded. "Hey. As I said, we have a problem. Maddie is making friends with the minotaur." He pointed at Maddie.
Maddie was talking to the minotaur, still. "I think I'll name you almost. Because you're almost scary. And I'm......almost happy." Maddie smiled. "You'll be Al for short."
The minotaur grunted.
"Don't worry about me. When you worry, it makes ME worried." Maddie frowned.
