"This is like, the worst day ever." Daniel muttered.

Maddie stared down at her beat down teddy bear. "Sometimes I don't say when I need a hug, Mr. Snuggles." She whispered very quietly into it's ear. "That's what you're here for."

Daniel sighed and walked back to his cabin.

Maddie curled up in a little ball on the floor, and finally fell asleep hugging Mr. Snuggles.

Maddie woke up in about three minutes out of pure stress. She grabbed her suit case and decided to start packing early. She was about to Mr. Snuggles into it, but she decided to hug him on the car ride instead. She took a picture frame. She stared at it for a moment. The first picture of her and Daniel, when they were just nine years old. A tear trickled down her cheek, and she stuffed it in her suitcase.

Maddie never fell asleep. She kept sitting on the floor, crying, and hugging Mr. Snuggles. Hopefully he didn't mind that she squeezed him so hard, a few seams ripped.

The days slipped by quickly, and soon Maddie found it was only a week that she had to leave. She spent more and more time crying, and Daniel got more and more worried. He tried talking to her, but she wouldn't open her door.

Leo wanted to cry, but he forced himself not to. He went to the infirmary to see if Percy was awake, but he wasn't. Leo sighed, and walked around the camp.

Maddie sighed and read her dad's text: 'Dress formal' Maddie nearly had a heart attack. Dress FORMAL? She might have a few skirts somewhere, but a dress? She had no idea. She searched through her wardrobe for hours before she found one.

"Come in." Daniel said, obviously sounding a bit depressed.


Maddie ironed her hair down, which took hours. She stared at all her normal shirts. Ones that said 'I'm not crazy....I'm insane.' or 'I might know what you said....but repeat it again, because I wasn't listening.'. Now she had to wear a uniform. She shivered. The moment school was out, she was going to burn the uniform in the fire, hoping the ashes would go to Hades.

Daniel didn't know what to say, so he kept quiet.

Maddie sat on her bed, staring at the wall. She didn't want to cry or hug Mr. Snuggles anymore. She tried acting tough, like she wasn't breaking down.

Days passed by, and finally it was the day Maddie had to leave. She stood in front of the camp half blood barrier, looking to official and sane to be herself. Although, if you looked in her eyes, you could see she wasn't ok. She was scared, worried, and sad.
