"Annabeth, I can't-" Maddie looked at the girl. She was WHITE. "What are you-?!"
Before Maddie could object, wind was rushing past her ears, and she was anywhere but her cabin. She was rocketing right towards the ground, but the girl caught her. Wait, WHAT?! The girl CAUGHT her. That meant she was flying. Maddie screamed, and the girl gently put her on the ground.
"Sorry, Maddie." The girl panted. "I freaked. I'm daughter of Zeus. Names Charlotte."
Before, Maddie couldn't exactly see how the girl looked, but now she saw. She had very long straight platinum blond hair. Her eyes were an icy blue, almost white, and her skin was very pale.
"It's....fine." Maddie panted. "....Where are we?"
"Sorry we couldn't go further. We are at the lake near Camp Half Blood." Charlotte said.
Maddie nodded.

Percy and Annabeth waited for Maddie to say something, but they figured that she wouldn't, and they went back to their cabins.

"How did we get here?" Maddie asked.
"I freaked out, and I brought you here." Charlotte said.
"How?" Maddie asked.
"I don't know, it's just something I can do."
Maddie fell into the lake, and nearly died from the cold water, but luckily Charlotte pulled her out. "Don't get surprised so easy. It's ok. Remember, just because we're different, we're still the same. Don't make me show you the hands again."
Maddie nodded and shivered.

Percy slammed the door shut, and sat down on his bed. He wouldn't let Maddie hide this from him.

"So, should we head back? Do you think they forgot?" Charlotte asked.
Maddie nodded. "Sure."
In ten minutes, they were back at her cabin, and Maddie changed into warm clothes. "You can sleep on that extra bed." Maddie said, pointing to an extra bed.
Charlotte nodded, and soon both girls fell asleep.

Maddie woke Charlotte up. "Good morning." She smiled.
Charlotte smiled. "Good morning. Did anyone sneak in at night?"
Maddie shook her head. "Nope. I slept with my sword to make sure, also."
"With your sword? Did you hurt yourself?" Charlotte asked.
Maddie looked at her reflection in her sword, and sighed. "I...well, my sword is...the only thing that really...-"
"Understands you?" Charlotte guessed.
Maddie looked shocked. "How did you know?"
Charlotte smiled weakly. "My dear, I know all about pain and emotions."

"Do...do you know everything?" Maddie asked, clearly afraid. "Everything I've ever been through?!"
"I won't tell anyone. I promise." Charlotte said.
"Ok, good. I'll go to breakfast, bring you some back, and make an excuse for it, ok?" Maddie asked.
Charlotte nodded and hid in the closet. Maddie opened the door, and saw Percy. She gasped. "How m-much d-did you h-hear?!"

Maddie ran faster and faster. A tear trickled down her cheek, and she decided not to fight back. Let it go, she told herself. It'll all be ok when you're alone. It'll be fine. She kept running, not caring her heart was beating faster than a race car. She had to get away from here. She would run a hundred miles if she had to. Charlotte would find her.

Percy didn't stop running after Maddie. He needed to know what Maddie was hiding, and he wouldn't stop until he found out. He could barely keep up with her, and he knew it was just a matter of time before he had to stop.

Maddie finally couldn't take running, but she pushed forward. She didn't care anymore. Her world was falling apart slowly. She saw a tree, and she grabbed a branch. She pulled herself up, swung to the top of the tree, and hid in the leaves. If Percy came up, she decided to just jump off. It might be too high to survive, but it she didn't care.

Maddie's muscles were shaking. She nearly killed herself trying to hang on.
".....I.....will.....never.......ev er.....tell.....you......the.....full... .story....." Maddie panted quietly, taking all her strength to say that.

Maddie couldn't take it. She fainted, and fell out of the tree a few feet away from Percy.

"Maddie?" Charlotte called quietly. "Are you ok? You're taking awfully long. Did you get hurt? I'm bringing my knife!" She tip toed out of Maddie's room, around the camp. She tried dodging people, not letting them see her.
