"I need to go to the restroom," Dan muttered. "It's uhh... that time of the month," he muttered quietly so only Maddie would hear. He didn't quite trust anyone else to know.

"Thanks," Dan said quietly, trying to control his blushing. He hated having Maddie see him in such a state, and he certainly wished he could magically fix his problems.

"No problemo," Maddie said, and went back to sit at the cot, to find Charlie taking a nap. She stroked his hair, noticing that it was clumping and falling out.
Tara was holding Oliver and comforting him, and stared at Maddie. " . . . Are you and Charlie . . . ?"
Maddie seemed bemused, and then frowned. "Oh, ew. No."
"Okay," Tara said, but didn't seem so sure.

"He just had a stroke, so of course he isn't feeling well," Maddie said. She glanced at Charlie. "I . . . am not sure what's up with him. He's being acting weird for the past few months."
"He lost a lot of weight," Tara said, suddenly butting in.
Maddie frowned. " . . . Who?"
"Charlie." Tara said matter-of-factly. Oliver squirmed and she held him closer, whispering something to him before looking up at Maddie. "Haven't you noticed?"
Maddie shook her head slowly. "He always wears such baggy clothing."
"I think he has a problem," Tara said. If she felt emotional about it, she didn't show it; she said it in a very professional way.

Leo stared at Charlie for a moment, and looked up to see Dan limping back into the room. He was clearly struggling to walk, but he was doing his best to walk by himself.

"Well, I'm going to skedaddle on out of here," Maddie said. "See y'all . . . around . . . " she awkwardly shuffled out of the infirmary, pointing finger guns until she left.
Tara shook Charlie awake. "Wake up. Your Dan's caregiver, remember?"
"Nooooo . . .. " Charlie mumbled.

Charlie stayed awake, watching over Dan as best as he could. He kept getting distracted and texting Willow, his sister. His stomach hurt terribly but he decided not to tell Tara, because she already had too much on her plate.

Charlie didn't say anything to Dan and continued to text Willow. He glanced over and noticed Tara had been awake for the past twenty four hours, holding Oliver.
"You can sleep," Charlie told Tara. "I'll watch them both."
Tara frowned. "You haven't slept all night."
"You haven't either."
Tara shook her head. "I'm fine. We're just understaffed right now."

"Well, the mouth thing is because of your teeth," Charlie said. "And you should regain feeling in your limbs in a little bit."
"If you want, you can perform the wisdom tooth surgery," Tara told Charlie. "I'm busy until next week, but you can do it."
Charlie groaned. "Fine."
