"Why don't you just use your wings?" Leo asked, looking bored.
Dan scowled, and suddenly remembered he had wings. "Oh."

"What was that?" Charlie asked, looking agitated.
"Said you weren't always an *******," Maddie said loudly.

Leo sighed. "C'mon, let's keep going." He began walking, with Dan following behind.
There was a loud growl nearby, and Dan sighed. "This is going to be complicated."

"I should at least try to fight," Dan muttered.
"Yeah, but is that really a good idea?" Leo asked. "I mean, you're a pon-"
"I'm going to try," Dan said. "Okay?"
A hydra Nemean Lion roared, and charged towards them. Leo immediately ran out of the way, and Dan put his wings to use. He flew up above the Lion. "Does anyone have a sword?!"

"Well, does anyone have any weapons, then?!" Dan shouted, getting frustrated. The lion growled at him, and tried to chase him, but since Dan was too high up, it couldn't reach him. But it did serve as a distraction.
"Get out of here!" Dan shouted. "I'll keep it distracted!"

Leo ran with Maddie, not looking back. He wondered if Dan would be okay. After about two minutes of running, he stopped, deciding they were far enough.

Maddie stopped running, panting. "I hate running."
Charlie's face was tinted green, and he sat down, looking like he was on the verge of passing out or puking. " . . . How long do you think he can fly for?" he muttered.

Leo cautiously walked back over to where Dan and the Nemean Lion were, and didn't know if he should be upset or glad. The lion was now a pile of dust, and although Dan somehow was human again, he was laying in a pool of his own blood.

Dan still had a pulse, but it was very faint. His skin looked very pale and was slightly tinted green, and he was drenched in sweat.
"We need to find Damasen," Leo said.

"I thought Dan's a lesbian and he and Percy kinda fell out," Charlie said.

Charlie groaned, rubbing his forehead. "Kids nowadays."
