Dan scowled, backing up. He looked pretty scared, although he didn't say anything.
Leo tried to stand up, but he winced. He sat back down, watching from a distance.

When Charlie stopped vomiting, he seemed to come awake, looking like he had been dead. " . . . Let's keep going guys," he muttered, standing up quickly.
"Hold on," Maddie said, taking out some ambrosia. "You looked pretty awful a second ago. Eat this."
Charlie scowled at Maddie, backing away. "No way."
"Haven't you had this before?" Maddie asked. "It tastes good."
Charlie shook his head. "No, I feel well, I don't need that. Please, let's just get this over with. I already want to go home."

"Charlie, you need to eat some ambrosia first," Dan said. "You really don't seem to be feeling well."
Leo tried once again to stand up, but his attempt failed. "****," he muttered under his breath, his ankle covered with blood.

"I'm fine!" Charlie said weakly. " . . . Look at Leo! He's dying!"
"What?!" Maddie scowled, running over to help Leo stand. "We need a splint for him or something. He can't walk."

"Charlie, make him a splint," Maddie said.
"Oh, sure, like I can just make a splint out of thin air," Charlie snapped back.
(Gtg, bye!)

"Guys, don't argue," Dan said, getting annoyed. "We're literally in Tartarus. Does it look like we can just waste time bickering?"
(Aww, bye!)

"How are we going to get Leo anywhere if he has a broken ankle?" Maddie asked.
"Someone will have to carry him until it's better," Charlie said.

"Can't you fix him by doing the same thing you did earlier with me?" Dan scowled.

"I don't know if it'll work again," Charlie mumbled.
"At least try," Maddie prompted.
Charlie sighed, and knelt down to grasp Leo's ankle.

Maddie squeezed Leo's hand back, trying to comfort him.
Charlie muttered something similar to what he did when he was healing Dan. After about a dozen minutes, he stood up. "That should do it. Just be careful, because the bone is still soft."

"Thanks," Leo said awkwardly. He stood up, still looking a little painful, but he already seemed much better.
Dan scowled. "Do you hear that?"
"Hear what?" Leo asked, looking around.
"I smell the daughter of Athena again," the voice of Arachne said inn the distance.
Dan scowled, looking disappointed rather than scared.

Dan sighed and started walking. "I swear, if that ***** calls me the 'daughter of Athena' again one more time, I'll-"
Arachne was suddenly right behind Dan, who froze, looking terrified.

Dan scowled, watching Maddie.
"My, do you look different, Annabeth," Arachne said in a calm voice. She made no attempts to attack.
Dan chuckled nervously. "I wonder why," he said with a fake smile.

Arachne scowled and turned around, and was about to hit Maddie incredibly hard, but Dan shoved Maddie out of the way and took the blow instead.
Leo frowned, looking shocked for a moment, and burned Arachne with huge flames. As Arachne crumpled into dust, Leo turned to Maddie. "Are you okay?"

Maddie nodded, stumbling to her feet and brushing herself off, a tad bit embarrassed. "I'm fine," she said, sounding flustered. "I just hope Dan's okay-I think he got hit really bad."

"He's still alive, then?" Charlie asked, noticing Maddie's relieved expression.
"His lungs might be damaged," Maddie fretted. "Save him!"
"It's not that simple," Charlie said, sounding feeble and a little afraid. "It's hard to heal people with that power . . . it takes a lot of energy and Apollo's blessing."
