"I'm good at music and poetry, not healing," Charlie muttered.
"You have to be at least a little good at healing," Maddie said. "Can't you help him?"
Charlie groaned really loudly and unnecessarily. "But-"
"You know, you moan a lot for an asexual person," Maddie snapped.
Charlie shut his mouth, his face turning slightly pink, and turned towards Dan, seeming suddenly intent on helping him.

Charlie gently pressed a hand against Dan's throat, and started muttering something.
"What are you saying?" Maddie asked.
"Shut up," Charlie murmured.
"I'm triggered," Maddie said under her breath.

Charlie gave Leo a sharp look, but didn't say anything. He moved his hand from Dan's throat to his chest, said a few last lines, and straightened up. "That should help."
Maddie clapped. "Bravo, bravo."
Charlie inhaled angrily. "Can we get going, now? I hate waiting around."

"Yeah," Dan said quietly. He looked better, although he was blushing a lot. He stood up, trying to avoid looking at Charlie.

Charlie, yet again, inhaled angrily, and Maddie mimicked him teasingly.
Charlie rolled his eyes. "Really?"
"Lighten up," Maddie gently pushed Charlie's shoulder. "C'mon."

"I just wish it wasn't so hot outside," Dan complained. He muttered something too quietly to understand, but one word that could be heard was "binder."

"Are you kidding?" Charlie said angrily. "You wouldn't last a day in my life."
"Let's all just be friends," Maddie said, holding Charlie's hand.
Charlie pulled his hand away.
(Gtg, bye!)

"Dan, shut up. You, too, Charlie," Leo snapped.

"Why can't we all just be friendly?" Maddie said. "It's not that bad."
"Yes, it is!" Charlie said. "Just because your life is great doesn't mean everyone else's is!"
Maddie frowned, looking down at her nails and not responding.

After half an hour, they ended up at a huge pit in the ground, with smoke coming out of it.

After what seemed like forever, the bottom of Tartarus was visible. Dan ended up falling into the river at the bottom, while Leo wasn't so lucky. He landed painfully near the river instead.

Maddie checked the back of his head, looking more and more worried. "He's not bleeding," she said, as if that was a bad thing. "He looks fine." She slapped him in the face. "Charlie!"
He remained unresponsive, his face a ghostly pale and his eyeballs seemingly sunken into his skull.
"Charlie!!"

Maddie pressed her ear against his chest. She seemed somewhat relieved, which must have meant his heart was still beating. She gently pressed a hand against his stomach, and his baggy shirt sunk low into his ribcage.
Suddenly, Charlie began violently jerking and projectile vomiting, still unconscious. Maddie ducked out of the way to avoid the puke.
