Celeste finally looked calmer, but still continued to cry for a few hours. Eventually she stopped and just sat on the tree, mournful thorns growing under her.
"Well, you better not," Chris said. "Maddie's stepdad wouldn't allow her, anyway."

Annabeth raised an eyebrow, taking a piece of paper out of her bookbag. She scrawled some words onto it in slightly messy handwriting, and folded into an airplane. She threw it over to Celeste, while Percy watched, completely confused.
