"How all of us have our own roles," Celeste said quietly. "Maddie's the Child, for instance. I'm finally starting to figure out what that means and it's more terrifying than calling her the Killer. Children are carefree, usually not cautious of the dangers. Immature. ...Willing to do anything to get what they want."

"What do you mean?" Celeste asked.
"Well, with the little disappointment of Hades running loose-"
"Maddie?"
"Yes. We just can't risk Annabeth getting a large ego and ruining everything," Hera said. "I'm not exaggerating when I say everything."
Maddie finally fell asleep again, and woke up a few hours later, which was still early in the morning.
