Celeste kept walking until it got too dark to see. "Let's rest for the night."
"The baby?" Charlie raised an eyebrow.
"Yes," Maddie said. "I'm pregnant."
"Why am I not surprised?"
"That's everyone's response," Maddie muttered.

Celeste curled up next to Annabeth, and fell asleep a few minutes later.
"Well, you guys are that couple that spends a lot of time together," Charlie said. "Alone. Sometimes in Leo's bed."
Maddie coughed awkwardly. "Okay, then." She opened a door, and pointed inside. There was a yellow bed, gray walls and carpet, and a few chairs. "That's your room, Charlie."

In the morning, Celeste woke up gasping from nightmares.
Charlie rolled his eyes, and walked inside. "Coolio."
"Do you want to have a room with me or by yourself?" Maddie asked Leo.

Celeste nervously bit her lip. "...I hate nightmares."
"Okay." Maddie held Leo's hand and continued walking down the hallway. After a few minutes they got to a door with too many locks to count. She had to use a key for a few, typed in a passcode for some, and used her thumb print for the last one. "Too swag for a normal lock."

Maddie finally opened the door, and it obviously looked a lot better than all the other rooms. There were a bunch of dangerous-looking weapons on a rack on the wall, including guns, knives, and swords. It would've been nicer than the other rooms if blood wasn't splattered on the walls, and it was hard to tell if the carpet was supposed to be maroon and it faded or it was supposed to be white and somebody died on it. In the corner there was a huge bed with a black blanket, and a television was on the wall in front of a couch with video games piled on it.

"No, it won't be," Celeste said quietly. "What if one of us die? What if we all die?"
"Pretty awesome, right?" Maddie grinned. "Ignore the blood stains. A few people had to...expire to get this. But it's okay now. You only die if you don't listen to me."

"California is so warm," Celeste said quietly, taking off her jacket.
Most of the time Maddie seemed happy or unemotional when people were killed, but she covered her eyes a few times, especially towards the end.
