"No dip," Maddie said. "We're trying, but I kind of upset the gods and they won't let me Iris-message. And by kind of, I mean they're trying to kill me. Oops."
Austin sighed. "Guys, I'd love to stay and chat, but we kind of have a lot more important things to be doing. Without you."
"You really think we care about you?" Chris said. "We Iris-messaged you because of Maddie, stupid."
Austin looked down silently.

The Iris-message of Austin and Maddie disappeared, and an image of Celeste and Charlie flickered. They both looked pretty filthy and bad, but Charlie looked like he should be dead, with many deep gashes and a few wounds that looked like he was shot.
"-so just don't talk to me, okay?!" Charlie snapped at Celeste. "You almost got us killed!"
Celeste narrowed her eyes at Charlie. "Well, you didn't exactly help."
Charlie looked like he was going to kill Celeste, but he tried taking a few deep breaths. "You are the worst."
"Yeah, well," Celeste rolled her eyes. "You kind of kidnapped me."
"You were lost, and you forced me to take you to my house!" Charlie yelled.

"Yes!" Charlie said. "Go away, now!"
Celeste gave Annabeth a strange, cold smile, her eyes flickering golden. The golden specks in her eyes were somewhat like Austin's, except hers looked evil. Her voice didn't sound sweet and innocent like hers-it was deeper and scary. "I'd tell you the prophecy, but Gaea told me to wait. Don't trust the blonde daughter of Hades too much, dear. That goes for all of you."
Chris scowled. "Maddie?!"

"Don't want to give too much away, dear," Celeste hissed, her voice morphing into a creepy whisper, like a snake.
Charlie inched away slowly. "I'm pretty sure we all knew Maddie was going to betray Camp Half Blood."
"I didn't!" Chris shouted.
"Oh," Charlie said. "Ha. Oops. Spoiler alert."
Celeste sighed softly. "Time is running out, my brave demigods. I thought I could count on you; I'm beginning to have my doubts. Having that said, I've already chosen you, and there's no going back."

Celeste hissed angrily. "Celeste is safe at the...hmm, shall we say, Sanctuary? Safe haven? Oh, you're a daughter of Athena, you get the point. She will no longer be safe if you do not complete your quest on time. You're a bit late, darling. You haven't even figured out your task, when I thought you'd be well on your way now."
"Okay, then," Charlie said. "Can I leave now?"
"Hmm, no," Celeste purred. "You're apart of this too, sweetheart."

"The boy with the yellow flecks in his eyes will have a map," Celeste hissed, green smoke coming out of her mouth.
"You guys aren't here, so you can't see this, but I'm pretty sure that's special effects," Charlie frowned, staring at the green smoke.
Celeste glared at Charlie, and continued. "You will be given tests. These tests don't make sense now, but they will. You must pass the majority of them or Celeste will be executed in a rather excruciatingly painful way."
"Who did we bring along on these tests, who Austin apparently has a map to?" Chris frowned.
"You'll find out." Celeste smiled coldly, and disappeared.
