Chris sent an Iris-message to Maddie. The image flickered, and Maddie was sitting in the backseat of a car with a boy with dark brown hair and weird yellowish eyes.
"-and I don't know what's going on, honestly," Maddie was saying, looking absolutely exhausted. "I haven't slept for, like, a week and I need to find my little stepsister Celeste."
The boy drummed his fingers on the seat. "...Great, you're telling the truth."
"Why wouldn't I be?" Maddie scowled.
"You seem really untrustworthy," The boy said. "Like you're going to stab me."
"I want to stab you," Maddie said.
