Celeste blushed, and stood up. She woke up Willow, and once they got outside of the cabin, Celeste whispered, "Oh, gosh..."
The landscape looked a lot different. There was a huge crater in the ground Maddie nearly fell into, and the ground was like quicksand.

"Oh, you won't be able to escape from my grasp," a sleepy voice murmured.

The face of a sleeping woman appeared in the quicksand, a creepy smile on her lips. "It's about time you've learned Madeline was the one who killed your mother."

Celeste frowned. "Grab my ankles, Willow."
Willow tried to ask why, but then Celeste dived into the quicksand. Willow grasped Celeste's feet, even though she was sure Celeste and Annabeth were gone. Celeste started reaching around, trying to feel Annabeth's hands.
"I didn't know!" Maddie said weakly, tears stinging her eyes for the second time that morning. "I didn't know who I was killing. Gaea said if I just killed one person for her, I'd get a better life, but-"
"Lies!" Gaea hissed.
