"So..." Hazel said, tapping her pencil. "What flavor should the cake be? Or should we even go with a cake? I mean, it's so not original. All weddings have cakes! We should have...ice cream!"

Adam grinned, and was leaning in to kiss Hazel, when he heard a roar followed by the sound of metal hitting the ground. He jumped, startled by the sudden sound, and said, "What was that?"

"We should check," Adam said. He got up and ran into the woods, only to find Percy under the paws of a Nemean Lion, his sword out of reach.
"Oh, no," Adam muttered.

"Percy!" Hazel screamed. She didn't think before she started bounding towards the lion, taking out her dagger.

Adam grabbed Hazel's hand, stopping her. "I got this, okay?" He took out his sword, and ran towards the lion. He tried to stab it, but he obviously wasn't aware of the lion's bulletproof fur. His sword just harmlessly bounced off, angering the lion. It snarled at his, and tackled him to the ground.
Percy got up and grabbed his sword. He shoved the lion off of Adam, but it just smacked Percy with its paw, leaving scratches on his cheek.

"Yeah, okay. Leave it to Hazel," Hazel muttered.
She snuck up behind the lion and jumped up onto the back of it. It swung around to scratch her but she held onto its mane and made her way quickly up to the head. taking her dagger she swung downward to stab the lion in the nose. It immediately roared and bucked her off. It started trying to lick its own nose. Hazel had landed in the bushes with a couple of scratches on her arms. The Nemean Lion crawled away into the woods, leaving Percy and Adam alone.
Hazel got up and approached them. "It's not going to hold him off forever."

Hazel blushed and smiled. "I miss you...too." She looked down and thought about Adam and her, and then about Percy and her. 'Are you doing the right thing?' she questioned herself.
'Don't be silly! He broke your heart more than once.'
'Yeah, but maybe he's changed.'
'And what if he hasn't? What then?'
Hazel sighed. "Yeah, I miss you, too."
