Leo took out a knife, and he stared at it. Did Maddie know, or was she nervous about someone else? It didn't matter, anyway. Maddie would find out soon enough.

Maddie felt like her head was pounding, like a splitting headache. She got headaches usually once a month from occasional stress, but this hurt horribly, so bad it felt like a knife stabbing in her head.

Maddie tried to draw conclusions, squeezing her head in hope to stop the pain. It's either Daniel or Leo, Maddie thought. You saw Leo's knife. You saw Daniel's knife. One of them got a new one. If it was someone else's, it didn't matter. Haters were going to hate, as her dad always told her when she got back from the fields and someone was taunting her. But she couldn't stand the thought if it was Daniel or Leo. She took out her knife and sharpened it to make her feel better.

Maddie bit her lip. Last resort plan, she thought. Extreme circumstances call for extreme measures. This is absolutely extreme. She opened her window, and let out a high-frequency screech that you could barely hear. She hoped Al would hear it and come. It was her last hope. He was the only thing she really trusted these days.

Maddie heard soft patting, and she smiled. Al crept to Maddie's window.
"It's okay if you draw attention," Maddie said. "I'll protect you." She patted his nose. "Thanks for coming. I would invite you inside, but I think the ceiling is too low."

"Okay, so something was wrong last week." Maddie said. "And please don't gloat how you 'Knew it!' I know, I know, you're clever enough to realize I'm upset. So, you know how Daniel betrayed me last week?"
Al grunted angrily.
"I think Leo might be doing the same." Maddie frowned. "Please tell me I'm wrong."

Maddie chuckled nervously a bit. "You always did say something felt wrong about him. I guess you were right." She said, but her voice sounded a bit sad.
Al grunted and nudged her.
"Aw, it's....it's alright. I'm fine. See?" Maddie smiled a bit, but a tear rolled down her cheek. "It's gonna be okay."

Maddie almost began to cry, but she just shook her head. You're a tough girl, she reminded herself. It's alright. It's just fine. "Let's go get a hamburger." Maddie walked to the dining pavilion.

Maddie was silent for a few minutes, then just sighed. "I know you did it." Maddie finally said. She walked back to her cabin and slammed the door. Al just stared evilly at Leo, probably planning to kill him painfully.

Maddie stared at the posters on her wall. Dream big. Hang in there baby. Thank god it's Friday. One by one, Maddie gripped them tightly, and tore them down as hard as she could. She threw them in the waste basket, until there was one left; A picture of her when she first arrived at camp half blood. She stared thoughtfully at it; then threw it in the fire. So what? She thought.

Maddie ripped a poster in half, and crumpled it. She leaned back in her bed. She even surprised herself she wasn't crying. I guess you truly are tough, Maddie thought. It satisfied her a bit. Out of boredom, she played with her stuffed animals. She pulled out a pink one and a red one.
"Hello ya'll!" The pink one said. "How you doing?"
