"Yes, but why would he HAVE the stroke?" Charlie said. "Strokes don't happen without reason."

"Well, what causes strokes?" Leo frowned as he walked to Dan's apartment.

"Strokes occur when blood supply to the brain is suddenly interrupted," Charlie said, taking out his car keys and running through the woods. "I don't know why he would have that problem. He seems healthy."

"Yeah, but he drinks and smokes like there's no tomorrow," Leo muttered.

"That could definitely be why." Charlie got into his car and started the engine. "Do you want to come, or stay at camp?"

"I might as well come," Leo shrugged. "I don't have any the else to do."

"Okay. Try not to mess anything up or set anything on fire, which I know you love to do." Charlie floored the gas and the car went rumbling off onto the road.

Leo rolled his eyes, and waited patiently. He was worried about Dan, but he didn't say anything so he wouldn't bother Charlie.

"Where does he live, by the way? I must've been there once but I forgot." Charlie took a sharp turn, his MPH count going over 130.

"He's only just a few minutes away," Leo said. "Take two rights and you'll be there."

"Alright." About two minutes later, Charlie pulled up in front of his apartment building. "I don't know which number he is, so you lead the way."
(Gtg, bye!)

Leo ran up to Dan's apartment and opened the door. "He should really leave his door locked," he mumbled to himself as he walked inside. Dan clearly had an expensive apartment. It was roomy with lots of windows. Leo rolled his eyes at how pricy everything looked until he found Dan unconscious on the kitchen floor.
(Aww bye!)

Charlie ran to Dan and checked for his pulse.

Dan's pulse was still steady, luckily, but his breathing was shallow.
"So what's the plan?" Leo asked.

Charlie shrugged, quickly sliding on gloves which hung from his bony fingers. "I don't know. I've never dealt with a stroke first hand, to be quite honest. He could've burst an artery . . . ? That would require surgery. Hmm."
He produced a first-aid kit from seemingly thin air and pulled out a few razor blades and picks. "I could perform emergency surgery. I haven't done one of those in a while."

"Couldn't we just take him back to camp or something?" Leo frowned.

"What good will that do? I'm the most highly competent doctor, perhaps in the world, definitely in the camp. And moving him while he's having a stroke is the absolute worst thing to do," Charlie argued.

"Okay, never mind," Leo muttered. "But make this quick. I have packing to do."

"You can go ahead and leave, I don't care." Charlie unpacked his kit and making incisions on Dan's body.

"I don't wanna walk all the way back to camp," Leo sighed. "I'll just stay here."

Charlie rolled his eyes. "Fine. But you may want to look away, I don't want to treat you for shock after seeing me cut this guy open." Charlie made a definitive cut down Dan's stomach, blood seeping through. Charlie quickly wiped it away and got to work.

"... If a stroke affects the brain, why are you cutting open his stomach...?" Leo asked, not minding the sight at all.

"I'm trying to unclog his arteries so the blood flow to the brain will be restored, idiot," Charlie mumbled.

"No need to be rude," Leo mumbled.
Just then, a large brown Labrador crept towards Charlie, growling.

"Leo, would you mind killing that thing with fire," Charlie said angrily, continuing to perform surgery on Dan.

"I don't think Dan would appreciate that when he wakes up," Leo said. "...Will he be fine when he wakes up?"

"What is that supposed to mean?" Leo scowled. "...don't strokes cause long-term brain damage or something like that?"

"So will be be fine or not?" Leo sighed, getting frustrated with Charlie's vagueness.
