One more tree fell down, and everything turned white for a moment. When the sky was normal again, Maddie was three inches tall, looking furious. "Is this some kind of a joke?!" Her voice was even higher and squeakier.
"Your name is Annabeth Chase. You ran away when you were seven because you were tortured by spiders," Christiana said. "You found two teenagers, named Thalia Grace and Luke Castellan. Luke later betrayed you."

Maddie looked annoyed. "Are you about done? Ack, why are my knives so tiny?! How do I stab people now?! Ahh! The ants are so big!" She shot an ant, and looked a little less panicked.
"I know," Christiana smiled, walking into the woods. "...Leo, what are you laughing at?"
"Shh, maybe he's finally gone crazy," Celeste said.

Christiana laughed so hard she cried, and Celeste picked Maddie up, looking happy. "This day has finally come." She took out a random brush and started doing Maddie's hair.
"What?! What are you doing?!" Maddie demanded. "Stop that!"
"Your hair is really messy," Celeste said. "I need to brush it. It'd look really cute with ribbons."
"Ribbons?!" Maddie looked disgusted. "Put me down!"

"Stop it!" Maddie complained, pushing Celeste's hand away. She desperately stabbed Celeste's thumb, but Celeste just laughed.
"That tickles!" Celeste grinned, putting Maddie's hair into a fancy braid. "Doesn't that feel better?"
"No! It doesn't!" Maddie said.
Christiana tried to pull herself together. "M-Maddie...w-why...?!"
"I don't know!" Maddie said.
