"Oh, then that explains it." Jack said. He looked at Maddie. "Are you ready for the war games?"
"War games?" Maddie asked. "Hmm...war sounds fun. I like games. Who doesn't like games?"
"The war games might ruin the term 'games' for you forever, since you're in the fifth cohort. We usually don't win." Jack chuckled nervously.
"That's because you haven't met me." Maddie said. "Maddie...uh...I forgot my last name and middle name..."
Jack laughed.

Jack noticed Annabeth kept looking at him, and he got a little uncomfortable. "Uh...so, you ready?"
"I was born ready." Maddie said, eating a Snickers bar.
Jack looked at Maddie. "You don't have pockets, how did you-" He paused, and smiled. "Forget it. Grab your armor. The war games will begin soon."

"How do you know?" Maddie asked Annabeth. "Are you a stalker?" She raised an eyebrow all suspicious. "Hmmmm?"
"She was probably your friend before you lost your memory," Jack said. "And who would want to stalk you? You just eat candy all the time."
"Stalkers would want to stalk me, that's who." Maddie said.
