"Fine. But we must make a trade. You let Annabeth die, and I give Leo back." Hades said.

Maddie thought for a moment. Plan B, she thought. You always got a plan B, right...? Well, you can bring Annabeth back from the dead if she we let her die, Maddie thought, but right now we need Leo.

Maddie felt guilty for letting something awful occur, but at least she got a plan. That's already better than your life, Maddie thought, and she chuckled silently at that. She put Leo down on an infirmary bed.
