Maddie saw a hot dog cart. As worried as she was, her mouth was watering. "Hot dogs!!" She squealed happily, jumping up and down and flailing her arms around. She ran towards the hot dog cart.

Maddie looked around. No one was there, but three perfectly good hot dogs were sitting there. Who specifically left three hot dogs, unattended? But Maddie didn't care. She wanted a hot dog more than anything.
"Free hot dogs!" She exclaimed. She grabbed a hotdog, but when she picked it up, she screamed, fell down, and dropped it. "That hotdog doesn't like me!!"

"It's faulty!" Maddie exclaimed. She carefully and slowly poked it, but she immediately screamed again and drew her hand back in. "Bad hotdog!" She scolded. "It's trying to electrocute me!"

Maddie was feeling pretty hungry, but didn't say anything about it. She kept walking, not knowing exactly where they were going, but knowing where they would end up would bring them closer to Typhon, and closer to stopping him. After about five hours of walking, Maddie was tired, and it was nighttime. "Okay," She panted. "Let's sleep for the night."

Maddie sat against the tree. She turned on her phone and plugged in her headphones. She felt horrible for Leo, and she was almost sure Aphrodite was plotting his death right this second. She wanted to cry, but she knew it would wake Leo and Annabeth up, so she just sat there, a few tears coming out of her eyes now and then.
"Tell me what you want to hear, tell me what you want to hear," She whispered along with her phone. "I'm giving all my secrets...away." She stuffed her face in her backpack, and cried. If Leo died, she would personally attack Aphrodite.

Percy heard Laiea's screams, but he ignored her. She already lied to him, and he wasn't planning on helping her.
