Maddie didn't notice Leo. She sat on her bed, feeling pretty wiped out. She would have taken a nap, but she was afraid to. What? Did she just think the word....afraid?! This was worse than she thought.

".......Say something, at least." Maddie whispered. She opened the enchanted book and looked in. Aphrodite didn't write anything. Maddie sighed. "That's why I told you what I said. You just let me down." She threw the book on the floor and laid down.

Maddie heard a scribbling of a pen. She looked in the book, and it said:
'You're pretty pathetic if that's what you believe, Maddie. I didn't raise you like that.'
Maddie stared. She wanted to write that Aphrodite didn't really ever spend time with her, much less raise her. But she didn't want to start a fight.
'Yeah, I am kind of pathetic, aren't I?...So have any advice?'

Leo waited for something to happen. He decided to walk around in the woods for a while. He got up, and headed towards the woods.

Maddie waited, and finally an answer formed:
'Some battles you have to fight on your own. The truth will unveil itself.'
Maddie wanted to be content with the answer, but she wasn't. She had to let it out. She knew starting a fight was dangerous, but she couldn't help it.
'Some battles?! You are NEVER there for me! I call you constantly, and all you say is to just be myself or something corny like that! It doesn't help!'
Maddie blinked back tears. She didn't want to hear from Aphrodite anymore. She threw the book onto the floor and swallowed hard.

"Oh." Daniel said, deciding it would be best if he didn't ask anymore questions. "So, what do you want to do?"

Maddie still sat in her room. She could hear the book scribbling, demanding answers and for her to listen, but she heard enough. But what she didn't know was that what Aphrodite was writing in the book was a very important piece of information.
