Daniel knocked on Maddie's door.
"Come in!" Maddie called.
Daniel stepped in.
"Hey, sorry about the noise I was making. I just finished a really hard-"
"That's not what I'm here about." Daniel said.
"....Then why are you here?" Maddie asked.
"Is Leo acting....weird, to you?"
"How so?"
"I asked him what's wrong, and he said nothing. But he didn't look too sure...."
"Well, I'm going to find out. Leo shouldn't be unhappy."

Maddie took the candy from him and put it back on her desk. "I'll go ask him."
Maddie walked to Leo's cabin, paused, then knocked.

Maddie waited for a response, then decided he was somewhere else. She turned and began walking back to her cabin, when she saw Leo in the infirmary. She walked inside.
"Hey, Leo." She said. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Hand them over."
Daniel sighed and gave all the candy back to Maddie. "So what did Leo say?"
"He denied it."
"Hopefully he was telling the truth."
Maddie nodded and laid down.

Maddie stood on the top of a tower. The empire state building. She squeaked and cowarded, but it felt like the walls were pushing her. She couldn't do anything but fall. The wind whistled in her ears as she fell, screaming so loudly she wondered why everyone wasn't going deaf. Right before she hit the ground, she woke up, crying.
