Lauren stared at Ximenia, her eyes flashing with fear. For one second. "I-I'm not scared o-of you..." She lied. "C'mon, Nightmare! We're LEAVING!" A ghost-dog appeared out of the shadows, and came to Lauren. It was a hulking great dane, half the size of a hellhound.

Maddie didn't see Percy, so she was glad she was alone. Maybe she would come back alive. At least if she didn't, Leo and Percy would never know how horrible her death was. Maddie snuck up behind Hades.
