Suddenly the wind went faster and harder for a split second. It sounded like the wind howled, 'Daniel.....'
Maddie sighed.
"Important." She whispered.
She very well knew who Daniel was. She hoped Percy didn't hear what the wind muttered. She hoped she just imagined it.

I know someone who should, Maddie thought. She felt like screaming Daniel wasn't here. That he wasn't at Camp Half Blood. But Maddie knew it would make it way to obvious to Percy. She wanted to tell him later. Not now.

Maddie didn't know if she should explain the story or not. Maybe later. She said enough for now. She figured for now she should just get to the point.
"Well, I think he's in trouble again. I told him I would protect him no matter what. I don't know WHY I did....." Maddie sighed. "I promised to never give up where he is, even if it means me getting in trouble...."
