Leo smiled and he fell asleep, too.
Annabeth quietly walked back over to the group, and she sat down under a nearby tree. She watched everyone, wondering how they could sleep so peacefully. She took out her knife, hoping Maddie wouldn't be triggered by the scent of her blood that was soon dripping out of her wrist.

Maddie sensed the smell of blood, not sure if it was from her experience in knowing to wake up when she smelled raw flesh or from her hunger, but she stirred in her sleep, and started coming awake.
