The drakon thrashed around. Maddie stuck her sword in the drakon's armor blindly, and it screamed and thrashed even harder. Maddie flew off the drakon's back, and flew through the air for a few seconds. Then she hit the hard ground.

Percy yelped when drakon swung its claws. He roared loud enough to wake up the entire camp.

The drakon stepped back a bit, surprised by Percy's roar. It was apparently loud enough to wake the dead- or the unconscious- because Maddie snapped awake. "Ugh, what?"
The drakon came to it's senses again. It charged at Maddie, seeing her as an easier target. It clawed at Maddie, leaving a scar all the way at her forehead to her chin. The scar began bleeding badly.

Daniel snapped awake from his sleep. Something kept roaring. He yawned, and jumped to his feet. He took his sword and ran in the direction of the roar. He saw the whole scene. A bear roaring up at the sky, Maddie dying trying to fend off the drakon, and the drakon not leaving them alone.
"Holy cow, what the heck?!" Daniel screamed. He ran towards them.

Percy was glad to see Daniel, but he couldn't show his joy. He remembered that Daniel didn't know he was a bear, and he hoped that he didn't scare Daniel.

Maddie growled angrily at drakon. She touched her scar, then climbed onto the drakon's face.
"You do that ONE more time, I'll NEVER allow you to come back up in the real world!!! HERE ME?!?" Maddie screamed as she stabbed the drakon in the eyes. "NEVER!!"
The drakon growled, and bit Maddie's legs.

Daniel looked confused. "WHY IS THERE A BEAR UNDERNEATH YOU?!" He called to Maddie.

Percy looked at Daniel. He scratched a trident in the dirt, irritated that he had to do it all over again. He hoped that Daniel was brighter than Maddie.

Daniel stared for a moment. "Percy?" He asked. "What about Percy?"


Maddie yelped in pain. Al rammed into the drakon, and the drakon screamed and looked down, irritated at Al. He let go of Maddie, opened his jaws, and lunged at Al.
"No!!!!!" Maddie cried. She jumped in front of Al, and immediately got stabbed in the chest by the drakon's teeth.

Maddie's eyes closed, and she crumpled to her knees on the dirt.

"Well, for a bear you have a pretty bad attitude." Daniel said. "At least you aren't eating me."

Percy stared at the trident a little longer, and he looked at the lake, hoping that Daniel would get the hint.

".......Hmmm..." Daniel looked at Percy's eyes. "Ohhh....man, am I stupid. You ARE Percy, aren't you?"

Blood immediately began leaking out of Maddie's chest. She didn't move.

"Ugh...dude...this totally sucks. I have to get her back to camp." Daniel said, although he was sure it was too late. Why Maddie got hurt that bad, he didn't know. Was she on purposely trying to die? Unless she was trying to save something...He looked back, and only saw Al. Why would she do that for Al? She was probably just being careless, Daniel thought. It was probably just a mere accident.

Daniel took Maddie to the infirmary silently. He laid her down on a bed, and looked down and cried. If Maddie got stabbed through the chest, she was dead.
