The monster charged at Percy, and he could see that the monster was a hydra. He ran as fast as he could, hoping that the hydra wouldn't catch up to him.

Maddie got out of her cabin, her sword out. She knew the thumping sounded too loud to be a creature small enough for her to do the rope-bag-brick trick.
"Percy!" Maddie called.

Percy ignored Maddie as he ran. The hydra was getting closer to him, and he was almost out of energy.

Maddie grinned at the hydra.
"Oh, gods. I always wanted to slay a dragon."
She got out her sword and climbed on top of a tree in a few seconds.
"DOWN, BEAST!" She jumped out of the tree on it's back.

The hydra continued to run after Percy, not caring that Maddie was on its back.
Percy continued to run. He tripped over a tree root, and fell to the ground.
The hydra reared up, preparing to crush Percy.

They hydra continued to stomp its feet on the ground in attempt to throw Maddie off. Percy made the mistake of moving too close to the monster, and the hydra crushed Percy's foot.

Maddie pulled her sword out, and muttered 'Ew.' as she stared at hydra blood. But she shook the feeling and tried to concentrate on the fact she just saved Percy's life, and hers. Maybe a portion of the camp.
