The small shadow took the shadow form of a squirrel and ran up towards a tree, it watched what was happening. Eli's eyes were slightly gold since he was looking through the shadows eyes.

The 'squirrel' ran to the very end of the branch and watched carefully, which was what Eli was watching. It was hard to tell it was different than the other squirrels since it was dark out, so its color wasn't visible, but its eyes had a slight gold color since Eli was looking through those eyes.
