Madeline curled up next to Annabeth and fell asleep, seeming innocent in her sleep.
"Madeline's kind of cute when she's not trying to kill people," Christiana muttered.
"#StoryOfMyLife," Charlie rolled his eyes. "The cuteness fades when you're forced to babysit for six years."
"I said I was sorry!" Maddie insisted.
"Sorry isn't good enough!" Chris said.

"I'm just...scared," Maddie muttered. "I'm tired of getting bad dreams. I'm tired of waking up and realizing somebody's missing or somebody died or just accepting the fact I have to pretend I don't have the same nightmare every night for the past five years. And every time it scares me the same."
