Luckily, before Maddie could beat Annabeth, Charlie stepped in the way. "Look, this is probably a misunderstanding, um, whoever you are. This is Maddie, and she's kind of messed up. She has to go to the infirmary and have a little talk about expressing her feelings without punching."
"Shut up, Charlie," Maddie growled.
"Love you too, Mads," Charlie said.

"Why are you leaving camp, though?" Leo suddenly asked.
