"It's the Roman camp," Daniel said. "They're mad at the Greek camp, specifically you."
"Yeah, some chick with black hair thought she was better than me," Maddie rolled her eyes.
"Reyna?!" Daniel demanded.
"I think that was her name."
"She's the leader of the whole fricking Roman camp! Please tell me you didn't make her mad."
"Uh...what if I did? Like, I'm not saying I did or anything, but what if I did?" Maddie asked shyly.

"Do we have to go back to the Roman camp again?" Maddie asked.
"I think they're coming to the Greek camp," Daniel muttered.
"Like, to talk, or to 'talk'?" Maddie asked, making air quotes around the second 'talk'.
"I have no idea," Daniel said quietly. "Just thought you should know...and, um, who are you again?" Daniel asked, pointing at Zoe.

"What's the reason?" Daniel asked.
"It's a long story," Maddie said. "So, Annabeth and Percy had a kid, right? And they named her Zoe. If you told her to hold a cupcake, she put the cupcake down. Then one day Annabeth and Percy mysteriously turned younger, and they fell in love again. Then Zoe reappeared, at the age she is right now, and Annabeth and Percy turned back to their normal age. Makes sense now?"
Daniel blinked. "Not at all. Don't repeat it, though."

Daniel rolled his eyes. "This is why you can't have intelligent conversations with Maddie."

Daniel immediately covered Maddie's mouth with his hand and whispered to her, "If you don't say it out loud, maybe it'll go away on it's own."
"What, you don't like her?"
Daniel shook his head. "N-no, I j-just...look, I-I'll tell you later, o-okay?"
Maddie nodded, and Daniel left the cabin without saying anything else.
