Celeste nodded, and ran off.
In a few minutes, Chris, Celeste, Charlie, and Maddie were gathered at the mess hall. Maddie's skin was dangerously pale, and she looked like she was going to collapse at any moment. She did her best to hide it.

"Are you sure you should fight?" Percy asked Annabeth.
"Percy, I have to," Annabeth said quietly.

Charlie glared at Leo, Celeste glared at Annabeth, and Chris and Maddie looked hopelessly confused with all the glaring.
"Okay, guys, this is what we trained for. This is what we signed up for. If anyone is too wimpy to go onto that battlefield and fight to the death, step forward right now, because we'd be better off without you," Maddie said, slamming her tiny fist into her palm. "No one leaves until Gaea is good and defeated, hear me? It's death or victory today."
"Maddie, you're scaring me," Charlie said.
"I fought in the fricking revolutionary war! I know what I'm talking about!" Maddie yelled.

"Not apologizing for stealing anybody's food," Maddie said.
"I'm pretty sure we all lost a few pounds on this ship because of you, Maddie," Chris said.

The enemies reached them, and the fighting began. Gaea could be seen in the back of the army, looking prepared to kill any demigod who crossed her path.

Chris slashed at monsters violently, seeming more and more like Maddie's brother. Lightning crackled at Celeste's feet, and she seemed to enjoy electrocuting enemies. Charlie was shooting down monsters with a bow and arrow, and Maddie was summoning skeletons and forcing them to fight on her side.

Zoe had jars of Greek fire, and she proved that she was not afraid to use them. She killed hundreds of monsters within the first minutes, and she kept going. Leo blasted enemies with huge flames, while Percy shot the monsters with high pressured water. Annabeth slayed tons of monsters.

Maddie gaze trailed to a mountain near the battlefield.
If we could just get Gaea up there..., She thought, then shook her head. The mountain seemed to unsteady, and it looked like if any weight was put on it, it'd collapse.

Zoe noticed Maddie's gaze, and she shook her head, completely silent. She continued fighting for several minutes, until she reached Gaea. She took a jar of Greek fire, and it exploded as soon as it hit Gaea. The explosion was huge, and every monster and giant turned to dust. When the smoke cleared, Gaea was also gone, and Zoe was, too.
