Maddie nodded. "But it's cool. Lauren can you bring Annabeth back to life complete-" Maddie turned, but Lauren was gone, with no trace. "Huh. That's strange."
There was a pounding at the camp burier. "Maddie! MADDIE!!! Is Maddie here?! Maddie!"
"....Dad?" Maddie looked confused.

Maddie's dad smiled. "Hey! I brought you cake and a present! Come over here!"
Maddie looked uncertain, then ran over to her dad. "Hey, dad."
"Hi! I came to bring you some stuff for you birthday. I know it's tomorrow, but it might be too late..." Maddie's dad's face darkened.
Maddie nodded. "Yeah, try not to mention it. Thanks."
Maddie's dad nodded, then slipped a note into her hand with duct tape across it. "Let no one read it except you, ok?"
"Ok, thanks." Maddie said, walking back to Leo with everything.

"Um, yeah. But Annabeth is right here." Maddie said, gesturing to Annabeth. "And the stuff came from my dad." She said. She dropped the note, but she quickly scurried to it and stuffed it in her pocket. She opened the boxes. One had a vanilla cake in it with light pink frosting. The other one had the most beautiful sword Maddie had ever seen. It was celestial bronze, but it looked like gold by the way it shimmered. On the hilt, Maddie's name was embroidered on it. Maddie smiled.

Maddie was still staring at the sword. "This...is....SO COOL. I can't wait to kill stuff with it tomorrow and-" Maddie stopped and sighed. She remembered her birthday tomorrow. She remembered the prophecy. She frowned and slipped it back in it's case. She didn't feel like eating the cake, suddenly.
