Maddie didn't say anything. Maddie sat down on her bed, shoving the picture of her father in her pocket. She looked down, hoping Ximenia didn't see that she was starting to cry.

The door to Daniel's cabin opened with a creak when Leo knocked on it. There were a bunch of papers everywhere messily. If you looked closely, you could see blood on the creases.

It was completely silent. So many papers flooded the room, probably even more pages than Annabeth read this month. They had an assortment of blood, big block letters, and scribbled notes on them.
