"I don't know. Maybe." Maddie shrugged. "I used to hit everyone with newspapers before I realized I was a demigod and I got a sword. Heh, heh. I love the power. Swords are better than newspapers. Of course, if you carry a sword around, they arrest you. If you carry a newspaper around, people just think you like to read."

Hades didn't notice Leo and Maddie. He continued to laugh as the hounds circled around the figure on the ground. After a few minutes, there was blood.

Maddie felt a surge of negative-energy rushing through her body like gasoline in a car before riding.
"Hades!!" Maddie screamed, using her angriest tone. "What in the underworld do you think you're doing?!?!? DO YOU WANT ME TO ATTACK YOU?!? IT SEEMS LIKE IT LATELY!!!"

Hades looked at his hounds. "You can go, now." He said the them. The hounds walked away, revealing Percy's mangled body on the ground, unmoving. His clothes were tattered and splattered in blood.
