"I love Annabeth," Maddie said. "And I think she sort of cares about me. But does she really have anything to live for anymore? I want what's best for her. She won't let me help her anymore. I've tried so hard. But I can't help her, and I wish she'd just shut up because I have problems too but I don't complain about them."
