Ashley ran towards the noise, frowning.
Maddie was holding a gun, looking panicked, standing over a girl with two large wounds in her head. Chris and Charlie were trying to hold her back, shouting frantically.

Maddie scowled angrily, looking like she was going to shoot Annabeth, but Chris knocked the gun out of her hand.
"Annabeth, you might want to get out of here," Charlie scowled. "Obviously, she shot Kira." He gestured to the dead girl on the ground.

Chris frowned, and left. He came back a minute later with Tara and Thomas.
Thomas helped hold Maddie against the wall, and Tara had a huge shot in her right hand.
Maddie scowled. "Don't you dare stab me with that!"
"Just to put you to sleep. It won't hurt," Tara said gently, but her tone sounded like, 'This is really, really going to hurt.'
"She won't let you put that in her," Charlie muttered.

Tara nodded, pulling down Maddie's sleeve and examining Maddie's scarred wrist and forearm for moments that seemed to drag on for forever.
"Do it now!" Charlie shouted.
"I can't find a large enough vein to put it in," Tara scowled.
"Try to find it faster, please," Thomas said, sounding stressed.

"Are they really trained with dealing with insane people?" Chris scowled.
