Annabeth did exactly as Maddie said, but she couldn't stop crying. Seeing Percy in so much pain seemed to hurt her just as badly as the wound hurt Percy.

Maddie reached under her hoodie and grabbed a hold of her shirt. She took out a pair of long, sharp scissors and cut off a large piece of fabric, revealing most of her stomach. She didn't really seem bothered and didn't want to talk about it so she quickly put the fabric on Percy's wound. "Do you have any tape?"
