Chris seemed aggravated. "Then go find something to do!"
"Okay," Madeline said, and ran out of the room.
"I didn't mean to just leave!" Chris shouted after her. "Ah, gods, she's going to get herself killed."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "She'll be fine," she muttered angrily.
"What's got your wand in a knot?" Leo asked.
"This is no time for Harry Potter references, Leo," Annabeth said.

Almost twelve minutes later Madeline came back in, holding bags full of blood.
Chris looked like he was going to be sick. "...Where'd you get those?"
"They just had them," Madeline shrugged. "I asked if I could have a few and they asked if I was mentally ill. I said yes so they gave me some."

Chris sighed. "What's wrong with you?"
Madeline shrugged, and started drinking some of the blood. Chris watched for a moment, his face getting pale, and he suddenly ran to a trash can and threw up.

The doctor came in. "Hello..." His voice faltered, watching Madeline.
"Just ignore her," Chris said quietly.
"You said you couldn't move your legs," The doctor said to Zoe. "Can you try again?"
