The dragon screeched like a baby-only 300 times louder. His firebreath ignited more cabins and it reflected in the Sound, making it look a fiery-gold color.
Hazel ran to the Poseidon cabin, pulled the tube that put water into the pool out and sprayed it over the fire.

"The little things," Celeste said. "The birds are singing. The air smells like flowers. The sky is blue. Imagine how scary it'd be if the sky was black, or dark red. Imagine how awful it'd be if there was a disease spreading worldwide that was in no way preventable and was always fatal. Imagine if ISIS took over the world and slowly tortured each and every one of us to death. We don't think of what could be happening, and just think of the bad things that shouldn't be happening. No one thinks about this. That's why nobody's happy."

"Of course I do." Celeste smiled. "I'm not as weak and innocent as I tell everyone, too. I'm just goodhearted, and that makes me stupid, because if you go against the society, if you go against the horrible people who make the rules, you're as good as dead. Maddie is going places, being such a terrible person. Terrible people make you feel better about yourself, so you can think, 'At least I'm not as bad as her.' She'll be one of those horrible people I was talking about that makes the rules. Honestly, I am thoroughly convinced that she's going to fulfill her dreams of ruling the world. I'm just also convinced it's not going to be a good thing."

"The black side represents the bad," Celeste said. "The white side represents the good. I always thought everyone was either bad or good, but then there are the dots inside. There is the black inside of the white, and the white inside of the black. In other words, there's a different side to everyone. A good person always has a dark secret, or a bad side, and a bad person always has a bit of good. I know Maddie has some good because I see how much she loves Leo. I just wish she'd show her good side more often to others. People might like her more, then."
