Maddie nodded. Soon, she heard a horrible roaring sound, and she hid behind a tree, spotting something that looked like a giant hydra, but somehow scarier.
"Thanks," Celeste said. "Even though we have a house, we still have a bunch to finish as demigods, you know. I'm pretty sure we'll always be in some sort of pain."

Maddie took out a pistol and dagger, almost smiling in a bitter, violent way, and ran up the stairs.
"I have no idea," Celeste said. "But they called ME, instead of Tara's family, whoever they are. We have to go now."

Maddie frowned, watching the hydra. It's form flickered. Maddie took out an old book, and began flipping through the pages, looking deep in thought.
Celeste called for a taxi, and told them to get them to the hospital. As she got in, she muttered, "I'm so nervous."

"It's Hex," Maddie smiled a bit, then it faded. "Never mind, Every Witch Way reference. Just an old Underworld book. I think that hydra is an inner demon, like the ones some children of Hades have. Like I have."
Finally, the taxi stopped in front of a hospital. Celeste got out. "Hospitals are so creepy."

Maddie turned the book over, showing Leo a picture of a dark, shadowy image that looked similar to the hydra. "Yup. Evil spirit, not Allan from Jurassic Park's fault. More like Hades's. It can't be a coincidence I was here when the hydra appeared."
Celeste walked inside, looking nervous. She went to the counter. "I'm here to see Tara."
The receptionist frowned. "Tara who?"
"Tara..." Celeste scowled. "I don't even know her last name. Let me see her, please."
"I don't know which Tara you're talking about."
"How many Tara's can there be?!" Celeste threw her hands in the air.

The receptionist crossed her arms. "If you're going to act like this, then-"
"Tara?" A doctor walked into the room. "Yes, Tara Jones is in room forty seven. We called who was on her emergency call list earlier, which was Celeste Briar, this girl."
"Yes!" Celeste said. "Tara Jones. Totally knew that."

Maddie nodded. She closed the book. "Sometimes I wonder if we were even on the right side in the war against Gaea...I mean, the gods never did anything for me except hurt me."
Celeste followed the doctor into room forty seven. Tara was laying there, the sheets covered in blood.
"What happened?!" Celeste scowled.
"She was hit by a truck," The doctor said.
"...A monster truck?" Celeste asked.
The doctor frowned. "What?"
"Well, if it was a monster truck, my frie-...this person I know, Maddie, will want pictures," Celeste said.
