Maddie held onto Leo, trying to find her way back to reality, not the horrible images of dead people she kept seeing.
"We could make a ladder, maybe," Celeste said. "But that'd be awfully hard and time consuming, while we need to get out quickly."

"Well, no one 'meant' to let me get ahold of a gun, but look where we are now," Maddie muttered, touching her wound.

"I blame you."

"Maddie," Celeste said, "you're literally a demon. If something got inside of me and made me act strangely, and it wasn't an eidolon, it could very well be your fault."
"Right," Maddie said. "Right, Celeste. Because I totally want you to maul me and my friends."
