Even though Chiron didn't say Maddie's name, there was moment of bitter silence.

Celeste woke up to see Harry hovering over her, holding a knife. He nearly impaled her, but she rolled out of the way in the last second. "What the Hades?!"
Harry narrowed his eyes at Celeste, not looking the least bit guilty. "The giants are coming soon. It'd be a much less painful death if I stabbed you right now than to let you suffer in the war. You're never going to win. Even if you got that stupid daughter of Hades back, it's impossible."
