"Fine time to have a deep conversation in the middle of battle!" Daniel yelled at Maddie, but Maddie ignored him.
"I didn't want to come back to life, okay?" Maddie said. "I only did it to save Abby."

"This is why I hate people," Maddie muttered. "Everyone's so rude. 'Oh, he's your boyfriend? That must mean it's okay to flirt with him, right? Oh, she's your best friend? That must mean it's okay to take her away from you, right?'" Maddie rolled her eyes.
Suddenly, there was a loud boom, like thunder. Maddie thought it was Zeus, but electricity was sparking from Celeste's hand.
Daniel took out his sword, and glared at Ares.
Maddie frowned. "Leo, you need to get out of here."

Abby ran up to Maddie, smiling. "You're back!...What are you staring at?"
"Them," Maddie said quietly, glaring at Piper.
"Oh...the blonde girl's your best friend, right?" Abby frowned.
Maddie thought for a moment, then shook her head. "...No, she's not."

Maddie glared at Abby, and walked away.
